Join the brilliant Bream Poet Maggie Clutterbuck for this creative writing workshop where you will write your own poetry or prose. A great taster if you’re interested in writing. One of a few community sessions in support of West Dean artsFEST Come and sing in this friendly & fun session led by natural voice singing leader and trained teacher, Kirsty. No experience necessary. No one has to sing on their own and every kind of voice is welcome. Space limited. Live music, local talent & brilliant shopping 🎶🛍️ Canopy is teaming up with Newent Town Council to bring monthly live performances to Newent Saturday Market every 3rd Saturday | 9am–1pm | Town Centre. Come for the stalls, stay for the show! Coming up next on Saturday Feb 21st are The Forest Kelts 11am-12pm playing a mix of ancient and modern tunes and songs from a Celtic Origin - Irish, Scottish and Welsh. Featuring Janice Lightly - 56% Welsh plays guitar, tin whistle and sings; Noreen O'Connell-Gallagher - 100% Irish plays fiddle and sings; Alastair Lightly - 76% Scottish plays Harmonica and Cajon We recently had the pleasure of returning to Picklenash Primary School in Newent to give back the beautiful batik flags and banners created by the pupils in the lead-up to last October’s Newent artsFEST under the guidance of @artist.joanne.callaghan Two adult and two children spaces have just become avaialble due to a cancellation! Book today and enjoy a nourishing artist led walk in the woods with activities for the whole family including leaf rubbings, charcoal drawings, painting with natural materials, den exploration and magic wands making. There will be additional activities more suited to the grown ups so everyone has a chance to try something new! The restorative effects of spending time in the forest are well documented and we are so lucky to be based in the Forest of Dean where we get to host Creative Walks. Such a unique opportunity to enjoy a guided walk through the woods with gentle prompts and activities to get arty. We could not deliver the festivals, creative walks or community engagement workshops without their invaluable support.
