We’ve been back to Orchards Trust to provide a valuable multi sensory experience for residents during their Dementia Awareness event.
On Thursday 22nd May Canopy 2025 volunteers ran a promotional stall as part of the Orchard Trust dementia awareness event.
With the lavender plant as inspiration purple paint was scented with lavender oil and the green paint had peppermint oil added to it. Paint brushes were tied to long sticks so that wheelchair users could participate.
The second piece was inspired by the approach used by Action painter Jackson Pollock in the 1950s. The aim to splash, throw and splatter the paint onto the paper from different directions.
