Our lantern parade at the Coleford Christmas lights switch on last Saturday was a glowing success. With funding from Coleford Town Council we went into Coalway Junior’s year 6 class and St John’s C of E Academy year 2 class. Canopy artists worked with the children, their teachers and TAs to create beautiful lanterns inspired by planets and the night sky.
These children and all children from local schools plus families were then invited to take part in the lantern parade led by Gloster Gladiators Scout Band who did a wonderful job. Along with Santa of course!
This was a lovely project and we look forward to more lantern making in the future. Thanks to all involved and a huge well done to all our lantern makers!
